Since that time she has worked as a fully qualified optometrist in Townsville, Swan Hill, and for the last 8 years, in her hometown of Mackay. Selina

  • Selina has worked in the optical industry since 2014 and has been a part of the Local Eyes team since 2022. She enjoys working in independent optometry and the long-term patient relationships and clinical emphasis that this brings. Selina loves getting to know our patients and providing customer service that goes above and beyond.

Outside of work she enjoys crafting, socialising, and spending time with family and friends. Selina also loves running and is a member of Mackay LRC running club.

Rebecca Vella

  • A Mackay local, working as an optical dispenser since 2001, Rebecca has over 20 years experience in the optical industry. With that, comes invaluable knowledge regarding optical and sunglass frames, lens materials and designs. Rebecca has a special interest in dispensing complex prescriptions, adjustments, frame repairs, and assisting patients with contact lens insertion, removal and care. With a genuine interest in advances within the optical industry, Rebecca is always looking for opportunities to further her knowledge and skills. Her professionalism and outstanding customer service builds strong relationships with both patients and suppliers.

On the weekends Rebecca spends time with her husband Mick, and two teenage daughters on their cane farm 30km west of Mackay.

Jocelyn

Optical Dispenser

  • Jocelyn has worked in the optical industry since 2022 and joined the Local Eyes team in 2024. Her favourite part of dispensing is helping patients choose the ideal frame and guiding them through lens options to find the perfect match for their individual requirements.

Outside of work she enjoys taking her dogs for walks on the beach, watching her three boys play soccer and socialising with friends and family.
