Ultra Widefield Retinal Imaging

Our ultra widefield confocal scanner uses the latest technology to capture up to 200 degrees of your retina (back/inside lining of your eyeball), compared to 45 degrees with a standard retinal camera. It gives unsurpassed image quality and lets us quickly and easily visualise the optic nerve, macula, retinal blood vessels, and peripheral retina without the use of drops. It is not only a valuable tool for detecting and diagnosing the earliest signs of retinal disease, it also allows us to compare images over time to look for even the most subtle of changes.

There is a fee for this scan as it is not currently covered by Medicare. Some private health funds may rebate a portion of the fee under their ancillary cover, so please contact your health fund to find out if this applies.
